Where is Bathsheba Surf?

How long has Bathsheba Surf been open?

Graham Job opened Bathsheba Surf in 1989, in the building that had been a garage and then his shell shop, Shell Shock. His son Matt took over in 2005 and it's still family-run. Read more about us.

Can I hire a surfboard or bodyboard in Perranporth?

Yes. We hire bodyboards, softboards and hardboards from the shop by the half day, day or week. Bodyboards start at £5 and softboards at £8 for half a day. You'll need ID and card details, and any damage has to be paid for. See our surf hire prices and hire terms.

What happens to my hire if the beach is red flagged?

If the RNLI red-flags the beach, hire equipment has to come back straight away for your safety. If there's a good chunk of your hire time left, we'll give you a partial refund for it.

What wetsuit do I need for surfing in Cornwall?

Roughly: a 5/4 with boots, gloves and maybe a hood in winter, a 4/3 for spring and autumn, and a 3/2 for summer. Everyone feels the cold differently, and fit matters more than price. Our wetsuit buying guide explains what to wear in Cornwall through the year.

Do you have a wetsuit trade-in scheme?

Yes. Bring back a wetsuit you bought from us and we'll give you money off a new one – the better its condition, the more it's worth. On kids' suits that's often been as much as half price.

What size surfboard or bodyboard should I get?

It depends on your height, weight and how often you surf. Our softboard size guide and bodyboard size guide explain how we size people in the shop – or just pop in and ask.

Which brands do you stock?

Wetsuits from Xcel, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, Roxy, Alder, Billabong, Oxbow, Sisstrevolution and Vissla. Boards from Skindog, Firewire, Thunderbolt, Lost and Lib Tech, bodyboards from Science, NMD, Apex and Paipo, and Dick Pearce bellyboards. Clothing from Rip Curl, Vissla, Passenger, TCSS, Lost, Barts, Vivobarefoot and more, plus our own Bathsheba range.

Do you deliver, and how much does it cost?

Yes, UK orders go Royal Mail Tracked in recyclable packaging and usually arrive in 2–3 working days. UK delivery is free over £50 and £3.95 under. Surfboards up to 8ft are £45 (longer boards are collection only) and bodyboards £11.99. Europe and rest of the world is £25 (boards are UK delivery only). See our shipping policy.

What is your returns policy?

You can return unused items in their original condition and packaging within 30 days. Wetsuits have a 12-month guarantee and will be repaired or replaced if materials or seams are faulty. See returns and refunds.
