It turned out to be an awesome day today as the sun decided to show its face this afternoon for the final rounds of the Roxy Jam here in the UK. English spectators lined-up at the waters edge to watch the all Roxy rider final this afternoon. The beach was the most crowded I have seen it all week.
Sofia Mulanovich was just "so stoked" to take the win against rookie Rebecca Woods in the semi-final. It was the third final that Sofia has made this year; the thought of surfing against best friend Chelsea Georgeson excited her. Layne Beachley and Chelsea Georgeson had a nail-biting heat together in the semi-finals. After exchanging first place a few times Chelsea held the number one spot against the 6x World Champ beating her by .5 of a point. Chelsea couldn't stop smiling as she came out of the water. Now the game was on. Sofia and Chelsea had owned this contest since the beginning. Sofia earned the highest wave score of the event and Chelsea with the highest heat score; this is more than a contest. It is a surfing story between friends who push each other to be the best.
